Melothria cucumbers are tiny, up to three centimetres in size, oval cucumbers that resemble miniature versions of light green, striped watermelons in color and shape. Freshly harvested, they are stripped of their stems and flowers by hand, layered in jars and marinated in a light nutmeg vinegar. They are crunchy and firm to the bite on the outside and taste like sweet and sour gooseberries on the inside. Serve as a side dish with snacks and cold dishes.
