South Tyrolean Ultner Organic Schüttelbrot is a thin, very crispy flatbread made from rye sourdough. During production, the dough pieces are “shaken flat” using a round board and then baked, hence the name “Schüttelbrot”. The bread is seasoned with salt, fennel and bread clover. The subsequent drying makes the bread very durable. It goes very well with the South Tyrolean “Marende” with bacon, cheese and wine as well as a snack for in between.
The Schüttelbrot is produced without exception without preservatives and without any flavor enhancers.
