Dark chocolate made from particularly aromatic Criollo cocoa beans of the Guasare type. Aromas of coffee and citrus, a hint of tobacco and light floral notes characterise this chocolate bar. The flavour is rounded off by nuances reminiscent of the scent of tropical wood.
Deep in the heart of Venezuela, in the Sur del Lago region in the state of Mérida, this Criollo cocoa has been cultivated for generations. Thanks to regulated processes and centralised processing steps, the families are able to work extremely efficiently. On-site inspections are carried out consistently and regularly in order to achieve a particularly high and fine quality of cocoa.
Now in its fourth generation, the Schell family runs a hotel, confectionery and café in Gundelsheim, Baden-Württemberg. With the aim of bringing out quality, transparency, fairness and the best flavours from the cocoa beans, Schell recently decided to no longer be “just” a confectioner, but to produce from bean to bar. We are happy about this; the chocolates are great.
