Rukeri is located about 30 km north of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The tea garden is one of the highest in Africa. The climate and plants (high proportion of Chinese bushes) produce a black tea of very good quality. The tea has a finely twisted, medium-sized leaf and is reminiscent of Assam tea. The cup is bright golden and is characterized by a medium strong, pleasantly fruity taste.
