In the hinterland of Imperia, where the olive trees grow so luxuriantly, you will find the Frantoio di Sant’Agata in the village of Oneglia. For three generations, the Mela family has been cultivating their olive slopes and running the frantoio. The delicacies are made of high quality ingredients, still prepared by hand and according to ancient tradition. They contain neither preservatives nor are they pasteurized.
The traditional sauce with fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic and Parmesan, goes well with pasta of all kinds or as a spread in panini with tomatoes and mozzarella.
