Quillabamba is a small town in southern Peru, just a few kilometres from the famous Machu Picchu. On the banks of the Urubamba River, the forests are home to a rare indigenous variety of cacao: Chuncho. This is cultivated in strict compliance with the rules of organic farming and sustainable agroforestry.
The very small and precious cocoa beans, yield a chocolate with a lot of freshness with nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg. Notes of roasted hazelnuts, cassis and blueberries round off this wonderful bar.
Orfève was founded by François-Xavier Mousin and Caroline Buechler in Geneva in autumn 2017. With a lot of passion and skill, they produce excellent single origin chocolates, in which the origin and the cocoa variety are perfectly emphasised in the bar.
