The San Marzano is a very delicate tomato variety with very few seeds and firm, intensely flavoured flesh that develops the perfect consistency when cooked. It is grown on fertile soils, mainly in the area around Naples, in the Agro Nocerino – Sarnese, in the province of Salerno. Wonderful for preparing a tomato sauce, stews and meat dishes.
