A traditional Italian biscuit made in Mergozzo, in northern Piedmont, near the Swiss border.
The dough is rolled out several times and folded over each other, then placed on the baking tray, baked until crispy and cut by hand before cooling according to traditional eye measurements. The irregularity of the pieces is part of the charm of this winter delicacy.
A citrus-honey note on the nose, buttery and fresh, a hint of caramel on the palate. An almost classic yet quite unique tea biscuit.
