Piment d’Espelette is produced in the French Basque region on the edge of the Pyrenees. The pods are first dried in the air and then in large ovens at low temperatures before being ground. The result is a aromatic, fruity chilli powder with a pleasant spiciness.
Ideal for seasoning meat, stews, sauces, dips, rice dishes, legumes or egg dishes.
