Blooming flower tea
Tea flowers are a delight for the eye and the palate.
With great dexterity, specially trained and experienced master binders produce these small works of art. Early in the morning, only the uppermost, youngest leaf of a shoot is picked for the high-quality tea flowers. The leaves are carefully dried and sorted. In order to be able to process them better, the tea leaves are moistened again and each individual tea leaf is tied together by hand with a thin cotton thread. One tea flower can consist of up to 250 tea leaves. In addition, petals such as jasmine, osmanthus, hibiscus are tied in the center. After tying, the artwork is shaped into a ball and dried for several hours. Their weight is from 5 to 10g.
Pour hot water on this inconspicuous and plain-looking tea ball and watch them unfold into beautiful flowers with individual flavors.
One tea flower is enough for ½ to 1 l of tea and can be infused several times.
