Coffee
Coffee pleasure: freshly roasted, organic and fair traded
From the coffee farmer to our roastery
Benefit from our sustainable coffee experience since 1864. Our coffee suppliers are in direct contact with the coffee farmers and ensure fair trade and great working conditions. They support various projects in the countries of the plantations to protect and strengthen nature and the coffee farmers living there with their families. Each coffee is sampled and tasted by us before purchase.
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee
Since 1928, we have been roasting the coffee beans ourselves in our own coffee roastery in Zurich, so that we can supply you with freshly roasted coffee at any time. No matter how you enjoy your coffee – whether as espresso, cappuccino, latte, hot or cold – we carry a large variety that is optimally roasted for every taste. We also grind the coffee fresh for you, suitable for your preparation method.
Not all coffee is the same
We offer pure plantation specialty coffees and various coffee blends from mild and gentle on the stomach to decaffeinated and strong espresso. We also offer flavored coffees. Our premium coffees are rarities, which are only grown in small to very small quantities and are among the best produced in the world in terms of quality. Our coffee blends aim to meet your taste and to combine taste differences of the individual harvests in the best possible way. We will be happy to advise you.
Storage tips
You will receive freshly roasted coffee in special resealable bags (without aluminum), which we also weld. This way it can be stored for 2-3 months. As soon as the coffee comes into contact with oxygen, it loses its aroma. Therefore: reseal the bag well after each use or decant the coffee into an aroma-proof coffee tin. This way you will have aromatic coffee for 3-4 weeks. Since ground coffee loses its aroma after only a few days, it is best to grind it just before brewing. For longer storage, we recommend freezing the coffee. This is possible whole or ground.
