Discover two indigenous Catalonian olive oils protected by their origin: the full-bodied oil from Argudell olives with accents of artichokes, tomatoes and tree nuts paired with a balanced sharpness and bitterness, and the milder oil from Arbequina olives with a fruity scent of olives, apples, bananas and almonds. Both olive oils are versatile and can be used in cold and warm cuisine and have won several awards in 2022/2023.
Roland Zanotelli’s team cultivates 60ha of land with over 10,000 olive trees on the Fontclara estate, which lies between Perpignan in the north and Barcelona in the south in the province of Girona. Some trees of the olive variety Argudell are up to 400 years old. The olives are picked carefully by hand at the end of September/beginning of October, then sorted and immediately cold-extracted in modern Mori-Tem oil mills to preserve the wonderful aromas of the olives.
