Quillabamba is a small town in southern Peru, just a few kilometers away from the famous Machu Picchu. Along the banks of the Urubamba River, a rare native cacao variety is grown in the forests: Chuncho. This precious cacao is cultivated by around a hundred families, strictly following the principles of organic farming and sustainable agroforestry at an altitude of about 1,200 meters. It consists of very small beans with delicate and concentrated flavors. Notes of citrus zest, sandalwood, and nutmeg blossom unfold harmoniously in this bar.
Orfève was founded by François-Xavier Mousin and Caroline Buechler in Geneva in autumn 2017. With a lot of passion and skill, they produce excellent single origin chocolates, in which the origin and the cocoa variety are perfectly emphasised in the bar.
