The cocoa beans for this chocolate come from a jungle project with the NGO Fairventures. The endangered cocoa variety is selected from old cocoa trees by around 160 families and saved from extinction. Thanks to mixed cultivation, the rainforest is being reforested – an active contribution to biodiversity and environmental protection. With its great fruity aroma of passion fruit and fine cocoa flavour, this dark chocolate is something very special.
Now in its fourth generation, the Schell family runs a hotel, confectionery and café in Gundelsheim, Baden-Württemberg. With the aim of bringing out quality, transparency, fairness and the best flavours from the cocoa beans, Schell recently decided to no longer be “just” a confectioner, but to produce from bean to bar. We are happy about this; the chocolates are great.
