The organic cocoa comes from India, Kerala and is grown in the Udumbanoor area in the Idukki region. The company Goground beans and spices ferments and dries the cocoa from around 200 farmers in the region.
Since autumn 2018, the South Tyrolean manufactory Karuna has been producing wonderful chocolates. Katja and Armin, the founders, place great value on ethically traded and organically grown fine cocoa. For sweetening, they use Fairtrade raw cane sugar from Brazil. The organic cocoa butter is pressed from Nacional Arriba cocoa from the area around Los Rios and Esmeraldas in Equador. The almonds and fruits used are also organically produced. The packaging is also completely organic.
