Cedar kernels are the seeds of the cedar tree and ripen in the brown cones. This variety from Siberia is aromatic with a fine resinous note. A little smaller, but rather tastier than pine nuts, cedar kernels are ideal for making pesto or on salads.
Lightly roasted, the aroma is intensified even more.
