Lampocoy is a small village in the coffee growing region of Nuevo Oriente, in the eastern highlands of Guatemala. The cool and humid microclimate, an altitude of over 1200 m above sea level and the deeply weathered volcanic soils allow a high-quality gourmet coffee to thrive.
All plots are cultivated by small farmers (currently 14 families) themselves, consisting of the Arabica varieties Catuai, Catimor and Caturra. The plantain is traditionally farmed by organic standarts (without organic label).
We purchase this coffee directly from the initiators of this great project. The price paid is currently 35% percent above the world market level. The initiators participate in the development of infrastructure, the school system and the health station.
The coffee impresses with its wonderful balance. Fine notes of chocolate and pecan, pleasant fruity tartness and a long-lasting aftertaste make every cup a delight.
